New client: Cambridge University Library.

Studio updates

We’re excited to have been appointed by University of Cambridge to create new branding for Cambridge University Library – one of the world’s greatest research libraries.

Cambridge University Library

Since its first recorded beginnings in 1416, as a small chest of manuscripts for Cambridge scholars, the library has grown to a physical collection of nearly ten million books, maps, manuscripts, photographs and priceless objects, spanning thousands of years of human thought and discovery, in more than 4,000 languages.

Cambridge University Library preserves and shares the world’s knowledge in physical and digital forms – from a 4,200-year-old Sumerian clay tablet, to 19th and 20th century posters demanding suffrage and equal rights for women.

Today the library is housed on West Road in a vast, iconic building, designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, with many different types of reading rooms and study spaces, storage for the collections, a map room, exhibition centre, outside seating, courtyard gardens, a large tea room, and small shop.

The new branding is planned to launch late 2025 and our work will include verbal and visual identity, brand guidelines and phased implementation.
