A good year: our 2013 logo for a wine merchant lives on.
Our HarperWells logo fills a page, and makes the front cover, of Nature Logo, the fifth volume in Counter‑Print's logo book series.
Some logos date. Good ones become vintage.
We designed the logo for wine merchants HarperWells in 2013. It’s a bunch of grapes stripped back to thirteen solid circles. Thirteen years on, it has a new home: page 99 of Nature Logo, the newly revised and updated edition from Counter‑Print. It’s on the front cover too.
Nature Logo collects logos inspired by the natural world, grouped by theme: trees, flowers, water, mountains, weather. They come from studios all over the world. It’s a series we know well. Our work has also appeared in Monogram Logo (Vol. 2) and Abstract Logo (Vol. 3). Alphabet Logo (Vol. 4) featured nine of our logos, with one of them on the cover. Now that’s two covers in a row.
The people behind the pages
Céline Leterme and Jon Dowling founded Counter‑Print in 2008. They met while studying graphic design and spent weekends searching second‑hand bookshops in Belgium and the Netherlands. When friends kept asking where they found their vintage design books, they started selling them online. That hobby grew into one of the most respected independent design publishers and booksellers in the UK.
They have one rule: only stock what you love. That’s why this one means so much to us.
Thank you, Céline and Jon.
Nature Logo is available now from counter-print.co.uk.
