2023 has been such fun – we've created and launched 13 brand identities, we've seen our work win awards, featured in books, written about on blogs and talked about at conferences.

January

18 years ago we created the branding for Computer Service Centre. Back then, they were a team of five and became one of our very first clients. 🙏 The founders, Jeremy Clarke and Chris Cooper, trusted us with many projects over the years and, during this time, we enjoyed seeing them grow their company to a team of 80 before, in late 2022, they sold the business to Acora Ltd – a national managed IT and cyber solutions company. 📈

Following the acquisition, the new owners, Acora, appointed us to create a new name and identity which would form a new division of the wider Acora Group – focussing primarily on SMEs. ‘Acora One’ became our first brand launch of the year 🚀

February

Our brand work for Norwich Castle was officially launched on 10 February. 🎉 We’ve been lucky to have worked with many wonderful organisations, but it’s not every day we’re gifted the opportunity to work for a place that was established on the order of William the Conqueror! 🏰

The project was picked up by various design publications and blogs, including Design Week, It’s Nice That, BP&O, Creative Boom and Brand New. ❤️ You can view the full Norwich Castle brand case study here 👀

March

Britten Sinfonia pushes the boundaries of what a chamber orchestra can do. It has earned a national and international reputation as one of the best ensembles playing today. 🎻

We crafted an identity that echoes the idea of layers balanced with the notion of multiple parts coming together to form a strikingly unique and expressive visual language. You can view the full Britten Sinfonia brand case study here 👀

April

We created a new identity scheme, guidelines and collateral for Do Bio – a global bio-tech company that facilitates the analysis of single cell research. 🔬

The visual identity directly references cluster graphs which are used to analyse the cell data and information. These graphs are commonly visualised using brightly coloured circles which overlap and form clusters. You can view the full Do Bio brand case study here 👀

A couple of years ago we created the branding for Unite – a pioneering B2B platform bringing buyers and sellers together for mutual benefit. Unite’s headquarters is in Leipzig, Germany, with offices in 14 countries.

We invited Unite’s VP of Global Marketing and Brand, Erika Mizun-Moller, to share her story and why she appointed a range of Norwich-based creative practitioners and companies (including us!) to deliver the brand for a €500m European tech business. Erika delivered a brilliantly funny and honest keynote at a Brandland event titled ‘Norwich united’.

May

Sop ~ Scents of place is a Norfolk-made bodycare brand, inspired by the local landscape and language. We created an identity for Sop’s new ESG initiative, named Conservation x Conversation. 🌱 🌍

Lanpro is an independent multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in town planning, urban design, architecture, landscape and the historic environment. We created a new identity for their business which will launch early 2024. Here’s a sneak peek 🤫

June

Our branding work for Norwich Castle was nominated for a Design Week Award. We were honoured and humbled by the feedback and attention the project received. 🙏 One of the standout moments was to hear the very generous feedback from Design Week Judge, Astrid Stavro of New York-based Collins. ❤️ 🎥 👆

Infamous US-based branding blog, Brand New, got in touch to invite us to talk to them about the Norwich Castle brand work as part of their ‘The Follow Up’ podcast. 🎤

July

Along with our friends at Holkham, we were jointly nominated for ‘Best Brand Building’ at the CIM Global Marketing Excellence Awards.

Visit East of England launched Naturally – a new destination brand and visitor campaign to promote sustainable tourism – for all.

August

Norwich BID and partners launched an important campaign aimed at the nighttime economy. We created an identity, campaign and toolkit for Good Night Norwich. 🌛🪩

We helped our friends, Reuzer, further sharpen their identity after a successful first three years of business, coupled with a new website to better showcase their growing catalogue of work. 🚀

September

This was another BIG moment for us in 2023. After over a year in the making, we were so excited and proud to see our branding work for Jarrolds unveiled to the public. It was immediately covered by a range of industry press, including Design Week, Creative Boom, Identity Designed and Brand New. 🙏

We reintroduced the S to Jarrold, making it Jarrolds once again. And we reinvented the iconic lion, giving it a clever twist.

October

Toby Forster, a proud Geordie and the founder of construction firm, YEM, explained to us that the name of his business means ‘home’ where he’s from. This gave us enough inspiration to create a neat new identity.

Emily Wilder, founder of Amber Bear, works with entrepreneurs – helping and supporting them on their professional journeys. We were tasked to create a brand story, identity, guidelines and website for Amber Bear.

We were thrilled to see our work featured in a book titled Object Logos by Counter Print – an independent publisher and online store specialising in design and visual culture.

We were proud to see two of our logos (Cafe Club and American Library) make the cut. 🚩☕️ 🇺🇸 📖

And yet more good news on our Norwich Castle rebrand – this time in the form of recognition from the Brand Impact Awards – during their tenth year of shining a light on diverse branding projects created by the best the global industry has to offer. 🌍

Around a third of entries made it through to the shortlist stage: a total of 65 projects, from 38 different agencies. So when we found out we were one of just seven GOLD award winners, it was time for more celebrations 🍾 🎉 🏆

November

Founded by brand consultant and strategist, Robert Jones (ex Wolff Olins and Professor of Brand Leadership at UEA), Brandland offers a major annual conference, monthly events with guest speakers and networking opportunities – utilising Norwich’s maverick and do-different spirit to lead the world towards better branding. 🌏 ©️ ™️

We’re proud to have been supporting Robert and his team from the outset – including with the naming and branding. Two years on, Brandland is a thriving community of creative professionals and brand leaders and, in November, we were honoured to support the annual Brandland Conference in collaboration with Creative UEA, Norwich University of the Arts and Adnams. 💜 💚

December

And, to end the year, we created a new identity for Symeus – a private family investment company with an impressive portfolio and global footprint.

Symeus build and support entrepreneurial teams, focussing on product innovation and scalability within martech and fintech. Their portfolio of companies exceed £65m in revenue with 14 international offices.

Thank you 2023!

Well that’s a wrap – what a year! Unveiling branding for a 1,000 year-old castle, a 250 year-old eighth generation department store and an internationally renowned orchestra. Award wins, book features, podcasts and events. 2023 had it all. Thank you to each and every one of you who made it such fun.

Thank you to our clients for your continued trust and support in all that we do. Thank you to our collaborators, partners and friends. And thank you to my amazingly talented team at The Click.

Bobby Burrage, Creative Director, The Click

Stay tuned for 2024

We’ll soon be launching a ‘buzzing’ new drinks brand, an identity and packaging range for a ‘holiday crisp’ start-up and new branding for an international technology-led IP law firm.
